I've always been taken aback by Sophia Richter's hyper focus, concise mind and impeccable taste in all her projects. If there was ever someone I'd recommend as an "expert city dweller," it would be her. But nay, she's not the "city girl" a la Carrie Bradshaw we now roll our eyes at -- C.B. lived in a myth of New York that was out of touch and insincere. Rather, Richter is a judicious voice and person of artistic acumen who captures and curates with aplomb bringing a fully real and familiar world to the forefront. I highly recommend her explorer's guide, Hello New York. It's a landscape for urban and digital natives, people who love beautiful and strange places, or dusty things because they are still revered to be explored. Richter has an uncanny ability to inspire a sense of home in everything she captures; she makes you feel as though you've always wanted to be there, as if the place has been on a figurative list you have tagged #wanderlust (without it's current "basic" implications of the category). In a time where the-gap-of-quality in travel blogging/capturing is seeing widening poles, Hello New York is full of integrity and inspires love of your, or someone's, backyard.
P.S. Another dream-site is Scouting NY
